BBJ FAQs

Does Big Booty Judy play nice with other pedals?

Absolutely! BBJ is great by itself but also with other pedals.

I personally stack it with my preamp, overdrive and chorus all individually and then altogether.

I rarely use BBJ by itself, I find it really opens up when used in conjunction with other pedals.

You will need to adjust your settings on BBJ depending on what you’re stacking before or after but you’ll find it also enhances the flavor of the other pedals so well.

Where in the signal chain would you recommend putting BBJ?

First off, there are no rules!

You do what you want for what sounds best for you and YOUR tone, it’s highly encouraged.

For me personally and as a general guideline, I put it after my compressor and before any modulation.

But again, you do what sounds best for your tone!

  • “yooo the pedal rips bro!

all my front of house guys love it!”

  • “I tracked with BBJ yesterday.

    The producer loved it!!”

  • “DUDE! What a pedal.

I was impressed with it before I got it and even more so now. As soon as I hooked it up and situated it and plugged my bass in my mouth dropped that turbo rat is insane I'll be hyping this up to every bass player I will encounter and have already told some friends they needa get it.

    Seriously man so good”

  • “OKAY BUT THE BBJ STAYS ON DURING SETS”

  • “I have been using a BBJ the last few weeks and love it. Incredible rat-style bass pedal.

The blend does a great job of keeping the low end and integrity of the bass guitar sound mixed with the dirt.

    @BackburnerNoise Great product!”

  • “I have tried standard and Turbo Rats, Rat emulators in both the HxStomp and Quad Cortex (blended with parallel clean chains), Jam Bass Rattler, along with the Broughton Locust Star.

This one is the best (IMO) of those.

In addition the clean blend on the BBJ preserves the natural bass sound better than the Rattler does.”

  • “Bro absolutely ducking slays on guitar.

The Eq even though I know is for bass, works so well on guitar.

And the top end when I turn that knob the other way gets into that octavia kinda thing”
